Date night does not have to mean a noisy restaurant, a 90-minute wait for a table, or a 700 kr bill before you have even ordered drinks. Indian food date night Kastrup is a small, deliberate alternative: warm food, candles you already own, and a curated takeaway order that feels like dinner out — at home. We are Inder'n, a family-run Indian kitchen on Sirgræsvej 4 in Kastrup, and a meaningful share of our Friday and Saturday orders are dinners for two. This is how to build that order so it lands well.
Inder'n is open Tuesday to Sunday, 16:00–20:30 (closed Mondays). We are takeaway and delivery only — no dine-in — which means everything we cook is built to travel the short distance from our kitchen to your kitchen and still arrive hot, fragrant and intact.
Why Indian takeaway works for date night
A good date night meal has three jobs: it should be shareable, generous and a little bit theatrical. Indian food was made for all three. Dishes are designed to be served in the middle of the table, scooped from with bread or rice, and tasted across multiple flavours in a single sitting. You are not eating one plate; you are exploring four or five small ones together. That is intimate by design.
It also reheats well. If you pick up at 17:30 to beat the rush and eat at 19:30, a slow oven at 130 °C for 8–10 minutes brings curry back to where it should be. Naan reheats in a dry pan in under a minute. (We wrote a longer guide to reheating Indian takeaway if you want the details.)
The perfect Indian date-night order for two
The order we recommend most often for two people balances meat and vegetarian, mild and bold, smooth and textured. Here is the build:
- One meat curry — Butter Chicken (creamy, mild, the universally-loved opener) or Lamb Rogan Josh (deeper, more spiced, for couples who want bolder flavour).
- One vegetarian curry — Palak Party (spinach with paneer) or Shahi Paneer (paneer in a cashew-cardamom tomato sauce). Both add a different colour and texture to the table.
- One portion of basmati rice — long-grain, fragrant, the base that holds everything together.
- Two naan — one garlic, one plain. Garlic naan brings perfume; plain naan is the workhorse that does not steal the show.
- Two mango lassis — cold, creamy, slightly sweet. They cool the palate between bites and are far more interesting than the bottle of wine you almost bought instead.
That comes to roughly 360–420 kr total, depending on which proteins you pick. For two people, this is enough food for the meal plus a small lunch the next day. If your appetite is lighter, drop one of the naan and skip the second mango lassi — you are still at four distinct dishes on the table.
How to time the order
Most of our orders are ready in 15–20 minutes. On a Friday or Saturday evening between 18:30 and 19:30, that can stretch slightly because the kitchen is at peak load. The simple move: order online as soon as you know roughly when you want to eat, give us a 30-minute lead time, and pick up early if you want to plate it carefully at home rather than eat from containers.
If you would rather not leave the apartment, we deliver across Kastrup, Tårnby and most of Amager. Delivery windows on weekends typically land at 30–45 minutes from order confirmation. Plan accordingly.
Setting the table — make it feel like dinner out
Half of what makes a restaurant meal feel like a restaurant meal is presentation. Three small choices change the whole experience:
- Decant the curries into shallow bowls. Eating out of takeaway containers is fine; it is also why the meal can feel rushed. A 60-second transfer to ceramic transforms the meal.
- Slice the naan in half before serving. It signals "share" and stops one person from accidentally hogging the bread.
- Use one candle, not several. One tea-light at the centre of the table looks intentional. A dozen looks like you are trying too hard.
You do not need a tablecloth or matching plates. You need warm food, low light and time without a screen.
A fully vegetarian date-night order
If one of you is vegetarian — or you just want to eat lighter — here is the swap. Order Palak Party (spinach + paneer), Shahi Paneer (paneer in cashew-tomato sauce) and Daal Makhani (slow-cooked black lentils in butter and cream). Add basmati rice, one garlic naan, one plain naan, and two mango lassis. You get three completely different colours, textures and spice profiles on the table — green, deep red and dark mahogany — and the meal is around 340–380 kr total. It is one of the most underrated date night orders on our menu.
