Autumn is when the season starts again on Amager. The football and handball teams are back on the pitch, the boards hold their first meeting after summer, and someone gets handed the job nobody wants: feed forty people on a Thursday evening without spending the whole evening in a clubhouse kitchen. Indian catering in Tårnby is a straightforward answer to that. We are Inder'n, a family-run Indian kitchen at Sirgræsvej 4 in Kastrup, and we deliver buffet catering across Amager from 150 kr per person.
This is a practical guide: what to put on the table, what it costs, what happens if your group is smaller than 20, and how to book it.
Why Indian food works for a club or team dinner
Three reasons, and they are all about logistics rather than romance.
It scales without getting worse. A slow-cooked curry is built on an onion, tomato and whole-spice base, and that base behaves the same whether we are making four portions or eighty. Steaks for forty people go wrong. Butter chicken for forty does not. This is the single biggest reason catering kitchens like ours can serve a large group and still hand you food that tastes like the food you'd get on a normal Tuesday night.
It feeds a mixed room. A club dinner is never one type of eater. You have meat eaters, vegetarians, a couple of teenagers who eat nothing green, and someone who does not do chilli. An Indian buffet handles that in one delivery: two or three meat dishes next to two or three vegetarian ones, with rice and naan that everyone eats. In our kitchen the vegetarian dishes — Dal Makhani, Chana Masala, Shahi Paneer, Palak — are just as popular as the chicken and lamb, so nobody ends up on the sad plate.
It survives the trip. Curry holds its heat far better than anything fried or plated. We cook the food the same day and pack it in thermal containers with reheating instructions, so the food is still hot when the first person queues up at the table.
What we put on the table for a team dinner
A typical club buffet from us looks like this:
- Two or three mains — usually Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh or Chicken Tikka Masala from the meat side
- One or two vegetarian dishes — Dal Makhani, Palak Paneer, Chana Masala or Shahi Paneer
- Basmati rice — plain or spiced
- Naan — plain, garlic or cheese
- Starters and raita on the larger packages, plus dessert on event and premium menus
One thing we decide for you unless you tell us otherwise: we keep a group menu on the milder side. A club dinner is the wrong place for a chilli test. It is easy for a guest to add heat at the table and impossible to take it out, so we build the buffet around dishes that a room of thirty different palates can all actually finish. If your group wants it hotter, say so when you book and we will build it hotter.
Every catering package leaves our kitchen with a full ingredient list. If anyone in your group has an allergy, call us on +45 50 29 13 71 before you confirm the order so we can go through it with you properly.

Groups under 20: order straight from the menu
Catering packages start at 20 guests, so a five-a-side team or a small committee is better off ordering a large takeaway from the normal menu instead. It is cheaper per head and there is no minimum.
Here is a real order for 12 people, using our current prices:
- 2 × Butter Chicken (119 kr) = 238 kr
- 2 × Chicken Tikka Masala (119 kr) = 238 kr
- 2 × Daal Makhani (109 kr) = 218 kr
- 2 × Chana Masala (109 kr) = 218 kr
- 6 × Basmati rice (25 kr) = 150 kr
- 12 × Garlic Naan (17 kr) = 204 kr
- 6 × Samosa, 2 pieces each (49 kr) = 294 kr
Total: 1,560 kr — about 130 kr per person, with eight mains, twelve naan and twelve samosas on the table. If you want the portion maths for other group sizes, we've written it out in our guide to Indian food for a group in Kastrup.
How to book, and when we cook
Inder'n is open Tuesday to Sunday, 16:00–20:30 (closed Mondays). That matters when you are picking a date: plan the club dinner for any evening from Tuesday through Sunday, and we can cook it. Monday is our day off.
