If you are looking for Indian beer in Kastrup, Inder'n has two on the menu: Cobra and Kingfisher, both 0.33 l and both 39 kr. We get asked which one goes with which curry, so this is our short, practical answer. Inder'n is a family-run Indian takeaway at Sirgræsvej 4, 2770 Kastrup, in Tårnby Kommune near Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and Amager.
Why beer works with Indian food
Most dishes on our menu are built on a rich base: butter, cream, cashew or slow-cooked lentils. A cold, light lager cuts through that richness and resets your palate between bites. That is the whole idea. You do not need a beer menu or a sommelier, just something cold and fizzy that does not fight the spices.
That is also why lager is the usual match in Indian restaurants around the world. Heavy, hoppy or dark beers tend to compete with the sauce. A clean lager stays out of the way.
Cobra or Kingfisher: what we would pick
Both are lagers, and both sit at the same price on our menu, 39 kr. The difference in the glass is small, so treat this as our suggestion, not a rule.
- Cobra is the one we reach for with creamy dishes. It is generally described as smooth and gentle on the carbonation, which suits a heavy tomato and butter sauce.
- Kingfisher is a crisper, more classic lager. We like it with fried starters and anything with a bit of bite.
If you cannot decide, order one of each for two people and swap halfway through. It costs 78 kr and settles the argument.
What to drink with each dish
Here is how we would match the beer to the current menu. Prices are the website menu prices for pickup, and rice (25 kr) is extra.
- Butter Chicken (119 kr) and Chicken Tikka Masala (119 kr): Cobra. The creamy tomato sauce and the beer round each other out.
- Butter Lamb (139 kr) and Lamb Rogan Josh (139 kr): Kingfisher. Lamb is richer and the sharper lager keeps it from feeling heavy. If you are choosing between the two lamb dishes, read our Butter Lamb vs Lamb Rogan Josh guide.
- Shahi Paneer (129 kr) and Palak Party (139 kr): Cobra with the paneer versions. Both sauces are creamy and the beer keeps things light.
- Daal Makhani (109 kr) and Chana Masala (109 kr): either beer works. These are earthy, filling dishes and a cold lager makes them easier to finish.
- Samosa, 2 pieces (49 kr) and Pakora, 3 pieces (49 kr): Kingfisher. Fried food and crisp lager is an old and reliable pairing.
Add a Plain Naan or Garlic Naan at 17 kr each and you have a full dinner for two.
A fair warning about heat
Many people reach for beer when a dish is too hot. It helps a little because it is cold, but alcohol can make the burn feel stronger, not weaker. If a dish turns out hotter than you wanted, dairy works better. That is why we also sell Mango Lassi at 35 kr, a cold yoghurt drink with mango.
We cannot promise an exact heat level from the short menu descriptions, and heat is personal. If spice matters to you, call us on +45 50 29 13 71 before you order and we will tell you what to expect. Our spice level guide explains how to choose.
Building a full order: three examples
These are combinations we think work well. They use only items from the current menu, and the total is a menu-price sum before any platform fees.
- Friday night for two: Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, two rice, one Garlic Naan, one Cobra, one Kingfisher. Total 119 + 139 + 50 + 17 + 78 = 403 kr.
- Vegetarian evening for two: Shahi Paneer, Daal Makhani, two rice, two Plain Naan and two Cobra. Total 129 + 109 + 50 + 34 + 78 = 400 kr.
- Snack plus beer on the sofa: Samosa, Pakora and a Kingfisher. Total 49 + 49 + 39 = 137 kr.

Frequently asked questions
Which Indian beers does Inder'n sell?
We list Cobra Indian beer and Kingfisher Indian beer on our menu, both 0.33 l at 39 kr each.
Which beer goes best with butter chicken?
We would pick Cobra for butter chicken and other creamy dishes. A cold, smooth lager balances the butter and cream in the sauce.
Does beer help if my curry is too spicy?
Only a little. Cold liquid helps, but alcohol can make the heat feel stronger. A Mango Lassi (35 kr) or some plain rice usually helps more.
